There’s general agreement among reviewers regarding _Annihilation_, but audience reactions have been much more divided; even friends of mine have expressed very different opinions about it. I usually find myself somewhere in the middle with movies that provoke such polarized responses—the ones people describe as "love it or hate it." Those are typically films I rate around a five or six out of ten. This time, though, I’m definitely on the side that enjoyed _Annihilation_. I really loved it. The visuals certainly contributed to my enjoyment, and I've been impressed with the creature designs I've seen on Netflix this year, in both this film and _The Ritual_. However, what truly resonated with me was the philosophical aspect. _Annihilation_ tackles its themes in a remarkably inventive manner, and I feel like I gained something from having experienced it. _Final rating:★★★★ - A strong recommendation. It’s become one of my favorites._
