It’s fortunate that Luc Besson still has enough recognition to generate some curiosity around his movies; otherwise, this unoriginal film likely wouldn't have been released. The story centers on a young model named "Anna" (Sasha Luss), who is brought in by "Tchenkov" (Luke Evans) and his superior "Olga" (Dame Helen Mirren) to work for the KGB. She possesses the appearance, the attractiveness – along with ninja abilities – and quickly demonstrates effectiveness while drawing the attention of the CIA through "Miller" (Cillian Murphy). Soon, she, he, and her Soviet instructor find themselves entangled in a fairly standard chase. There’s really nothing here to make it memorable or to improve upon how often events repeat. Fight, evade, fight, evade... It's all so commonplace and, honestly, unexciting. Evans and Dame Helen offer accents that are as heavy as old Tiramisu, and while she embraces her role, Luss doesn’t manage to truly connect as the left-handed and stylish killer. Nearly two hours pass during this film, so I would suggest you consider whether there isn't something else you could be doing, like chores.
