It felt stretched out for nearly three hours, and I’m having trouble understanding what it all means. There's a great deal of violence depicted, along with some attempts at romance, but not enough substance to justify its length. The visuals are impressive; there are certainly striking elements throughout. However, I suspect my unfamiliarity with the cultural context prevents me from connecting emotionally with the seemingly arbitrary acts of killing, intimacy, deception, and shifting allegiances. It's hard to accept what’s happening on screen, and frankly, the duration is exhausting.
