The storyline itself doesn't offer anything entirely original, but the script and direction give it a sense of novelty. Chemban Vinod Jose, who is also an actor, wrote this screenplay, and his debut demonstrates a strong grasp of what life in Angamaly should feel like, which complements Pellissery’s directorial style very well. The film's realism provides a feeling of authenticity, even though the action sequences were also effective. What really stands out are the performances from all the new actors involved, along with the distinct local atmosphere of Angamaly; these qualities combine to make "Angamaly Diaries" an enjoyable experience.
