This is the sort of shadowy, criminal story I usually enjoy, and I’m generally a fan of Willem Dafoe's work, however, this particular film simply didn't quite succeed. The filmmaking felt rather straightforward, and while Dafoe was adequate, his portrayal wasn’t particularly memorable, especially considering the unremarkable actors in the other roles. It proved to be an experience that faded quickly from mind. 2.5/5
