I'm glad Jeremy Irons found making _An Actor Prepares_ enjoyable; that’s good for him. To my surprise, I ended up finding it somewhat entertaining too, despite the fact that the storyline—a son bonding with his father through forced proximity—is a plot device I really dislike. It isn’t particularly impressive, and I wouldn't suggest watching it or revisiting it, but there were moments that made me chuckle, and my overall feeling toward it was less negative than I anticipated. Final rating:★★½ - There were aspects of it that resonated with me, though the whole thing didn’t quite gel.
