What struck me most about this movie was how easily those four boys could find someone to hook up with. I tended to favor Chris Klein ("Oz") or Thomas Ian Nicholas ("Kevin"), depending on my feelings at the time—but their descent into what felt like a silly, exaggeratedly angsty world really put me off. The girls are generally attractive too, and just as (or even more) interested in exploring their sexuality – I don’t understand the problem with that. The script and humor rely heavily on tired stereotypes: the athletic guys and not-so-bright girls; parents who react to their kids' sexual interests like they’ve never had any experience themselves. These characters are so superficial, and they have these unbelievably intense discussions about getting laid that made me want to grab something sharp just to mark each encounter. Seann William Scott and Jason Biggs (though I can see why he has trouble finding a partner) push the "Carry On" style of suggestive jokes to an uncomfortable level, and the conclusion makes “The Graduate” seem like a Fellini film! The production is unapologetically sexist—there’s no male nudity—but there's plenty of bare chests, and I felt it hadn’t aged well at all. Honestly, much of this just made me feel really awkward.
