There's now a welcome perspective on family dynamics within the context of the characters’ suffering, which feels surprisingly reassuring. I haven't previously seen this particular crisis explored from this angle, and its presentation is incredibly intense. The film places considerable demands on the viewer's senses, leaving one uncertain about their emotional response or whether there's any logic to what's unfolding. Despite the tragedy at the story’s core, a defiant expression of hope emerges.
