Gong Seung Yeon’s first time acting gives Aloners a quiet but moving look at being alone, showing feelings of sadness and separation with careful detail. The movie has an interesting starting point, but it doesn't quite live up to what it could be; the characters don’t feel fully realized, and the way things finish is confusing, which lessens how much it affects you. Even so, watching it makes you think, although a more thorough story would have made it even better.
