The story continues from "Insurgent," with Tris and Four deciding to leave Chicago’s confines and forge a new existence, even if it means facing danger and the unknown. There’s a brief moment of suspense as they manage to escape – possibly the only truly tense part of the movie. They then encounter a group claiming to be fellow rebels, but their true intentions become questionable. This creates doubts that strain the connection between Tris and Four, and also try the audience's tolerance. Jeff Daniels makes an effort to bring some threat to his character, David, but Miles Teller’s portrayal of Peter is simply annoying. It seems like a large-scale finale is on the horizon, yet it never arrives. Instead, the film concludes with unresolved questions, which I believe might have been due to plans for another installment in the series at one point. The performers seem to be just going through the motions; you can tell they’re eager for the story to wrap up so everyone can move on. Visually, it's appealing, and the actors look good, but the film itself isn't particularly satisfying.
