The film chronicles the ascent and decline of Tower Records, examining their initial business approach, subsequent global expansion—including a presence in Japan—and featuring conversations with owner and CEO Russ Solomon, staff members, and several figures within the music industry such as Bruce Springsteen, Dave Grohl, Elton John, and David Geffen. These accounts detail how the company flourished for four decades before its rapid downfall around 2000, largely due to the transition from physical media to online music distribution and a lack of foresight regarding this change. It’s an educational film that captures the atmosphere and individuals associated with the business during its active years, making it worthwhile to view. However, it's really something you only need to see once; it's a sad story, but ultimately one to move past.
