This Italian erotic film, helmed by the director of Caligula, centers on Diana (Claudia Koll), who has been married to her husband (Paolo Lanza) for five years and deeply loves him, yet still experiences desires for other men. Her spouse struggles with the idea of not being exclusively desired, but maybe he’ll eventually understand that "all ladies do it." This is only the second film I've seen from Brass, and his distinctive visual approach is certainly prominent, even if his storytelling isn't quite as strong. I was surprised by how solid the screenplay proved to be, since many similar films prioritize sex over narrative development; fortunately, that wasn’t the case here. The film seemed to take seriously the idea of a woman having permission to express her sexuality without being condemned as immoral. Brass succeeds in creating an appealing aesthetic with impressive cinematography and set designs. My main criticism of his direction is that the movie frequently feels like a prolonged focus on women's rear ends, which, while I appreciate, becomes repetitive; however, the scene where the women go skinny dipping is truly delightful. The acting isn’t particularly memorable, but it serves its purpose, and ultimately, there are far worse ways to spend your time.
