This installment in the *Alien* series is a remarkable display of technical skill, showcasing Fede Álvarez’s ability to build suspense and dread. The film elevates the franchise's visual and auditory presentation with immersive sound and Galo Olivares’ exceptional cinematography, work that certainly warrants recognition. Still, it feels constrained by its connection to previous films, which ultimately stops it from realizing a stronger story or exploring themes as effectively as some of the earlier entries. That said, Cailee Spaeny and David Jonsson deliver compelling performances, and the final section provides a genuinely thrilling experience. Seeing this on IMAX is worthwhile, though it’s hard to shake the sense that the film might have taken greater risks and offered something truly new. Rating: B+
