I entered _Alien: Covenant_ with some doubts. It seemed unlikely there would be another excellent film in the series since _Aliens_, and I had concerns about that. While I found _Prometheus_ impressive from a technical perspective, it didn’t hold my attention as a movie, and I feared this one might suffer from a similar problem. The previews were fairly promising, but I was also concerned that they revealed too much of the final portion, potentially diminishing my enjoyment. What I wasn't anticipating was how badly made the film would appear within the first ten minutes. I realize now that I was mistaken because that’s precisely what occurred, and that impression didn’t really go away throughout the entire movie. It isn’t as bad as "_AVP: Requiem_"—though I still felt let down. _Final rating:★★ - It had elements I liked, but it turned out to be a flawed film._
