Alien Autopsy turned out to be surprisingly decent, considering what it is. Still, I can’t really call it a good film. The plot and how quickly things move aren't necessarily poor, but there just isn't enough substance to hold your attention. A unique aspect of the movie is having Ant & Dec in the leading roles. Those two are very well-known television personalities here in the United Kingdom; they’re practically a fixture in most homes. I recall growing up knowing that they had acted previously with this 2006 film and seeing bits of it on TV years ago, so it was good to finally watch the whole thing. As mentioned earlier, it's better than I anticipated, particularly given that this marked their first (and only) attempt at acting. Declan Donnelly is a fairly capable actor; Anthony McPartlin isn’t quite as strong, but Donnelly gets the job done for this kind of movie. Bill Pullman has a significant role, and so does Harry Dean Stanton. Omid Djalili is in it too—he's a comedian I enjoy. Jimmy Carr makes an appearance as well; he used to be popular around here. Götz Otto’s character feels like the weakest element of the film, which is unfortunate for him. It was interesting to discover the real-life story that inspired this movie. You have to admire Ray Santilli and Gary Shoefield's efforts, honestly.
