It feels like some movies are better left untouched, and that’s definitely true for "Alfie." While Jude Law possesses an undeniable allure stepping into Michael Caine's shoes as the charming rogue, his usual pattern of casual relationships quickly hits a snag when he encounters difficulties with his physical abilities. This creates complications within his superficial world, which has been moved to New York for this adaptation. Sienna Miller and Susan Sarandon don’t manage to inject much life into what is visually appealing but ultimately lacking in substance, and Law, despite being impeccably stylish and attractive, simply doesn't capture the same charisma or roguishness as Caine did. The music isn't bad, but it misses a vital ingredient without Cilla Black.
