It’s remarkable how many action movies France has been providing to Netflix recently; my previous review was about *In His Shadow*, so seeing two solid French action films appear consecutively on the platform is quite noteworthy. It's disappointing that this one doesn’t last longer, though. The movie seems to have difficulty juggling its various storylines, and even a two-hour length isn't sufficient for them all to develop properly—some of these plots show promise, like the undercover officer embedded within a criminal organization or the evolving connections between the protagonist and his family members and syndicate. There are plot threads involving terrorism, a crime family, a spy’s personal journey, and a friendship with the boss's son. It ought to function well given its length, but it can’t quite manage to integrate everything effectively. It’s unfortunate that the central character isn't compelling enough to become invested in, despite the actor’s commendable performance. The film truly shines when it concentrates on the action sequences, largely due to the cinematography and filming techniques. Despite issues with pacing and writing, I still found enjoyment in the movie because of its action and visuals. If you’re seeking a double feature of French-style action films, Netflix is definitely worth checking out.
