The story follows a familiar formula. It’s about a newcomer who needs to gain acceptance in a new town while also pursuing a romantic interest. It's a plot we've encountered many times before—think of Hocus Pocus, Side Out, North Shore, Rad, Thrashin', and countless other movies that stick closely to this established pattern. A movie packed with genre clichés isn’t inherently negative. Sometimes what you’re looking for is simple entertainment, a predictable resolution, and nothing more complicated than that. This film provides exactly that kind of experience, and it also includes a nod to Nintendo Hockey, which might be considered the greatest sports game ever made.
