It’s hard to believe that nearly three decades have passed since Harrison Ford encountered danger on his aircraft due to individuals from Eastern Europe. Perhaps we should have allowed more time to elapse before producing this uninspired and underwhelming imitation. The storyline centers around the President (Ian Bohen) who is en route to finalize an energy agreement when his plane is seized by antagonists aiming to disrupt his mission. As casualties increase, it becomes the responsibility of his final confidential security detail member, "Allison" (Katherine McNamara), to rescue him. Considering this marks her initial assignment, the question arises: can she ensure his survival during the flight—especially given their location over hostile airspace, and can she guarantee his safety until reinforcements arrive? Radu Serbedzija makes a familiar appearance as a recurring villain in these types of productions, and Anthony Michael Hall is also present, though his acting seems unchanged since "The Breakfast Club" (1985). Overall, the production feels generic, with a limited budget and a single-camera setup. The script is serviceable, but the performances are unremarkable, and the depiction of the U.S. President as an action hero equally comfortable wielding a firearm and addressing a crowd simply encapsulates the film’s silliness. Unfortunately, it doesn't work out well. It’s best to skip this one.
