The initial installment of the series had a promising beginning. Tessa's character falls into predictable tropes early on, but the film’s most captivating element is Hardin, portrayed by Hero Fiennes Tiffin. He embodies an arrogant and inebriated personality, with a disturbing hobby of verbally attacking vulnerable individuals (a plot point to note) and mistreating his romantic partner. The absence of chemistry or genuine affection between them only serves to highlight the abusive dynamic depicted throughout. Despite this, it’s still worthwhile viewing for audiences of all ages.
