While I don’t share the enthusiasm of some other viewers online, I can certainly say that *'After the Wedding'* is a worthwhile movie! It took me a bit to get into it, but ultimately I enjoyed watching it; even the ending delivers an emotional impact... I really felt sympathy for what the characters were going through. The film does run a little long, as it could have gotten to that final point more swiftly, though that’s not a significant issue. Mads Mikkelsen, Sidse Babett Knudsen and Stine Fischer Christensen all give strong performances, which is great to see. Rolf Lassgård, however, stands out—his performance is exceptional, especially concerning the central storyline. I connected with his character's feelings. I briefly considered giving it a score of 9/10 like many others online, but I ended up choosing 8/10... it’s pretty close, I will concede that. Regardless, and more importantly, this is a film with real substance.
