The story involves layers—a con inside a heist inside another heist—and also functions as a buddy movie. Rather than pairing police officers, this one features a thief and the FBI agent pursuing him, creating an unusual but amusing dynamic. The cast is impressive, featuring Naomi Harris in an early role, and the film offers visually striking locations, clever robberies, polished acting, and unexpected plot developments. Pierce Brosnan and Woody Harrelson have good rapport as rivals who become friends, while Salma Hayek’s character, Lola, serves as a capable and confident presence attempting to temper Brosnan's constant craving for another score.
