I feel like I should be rewarded for pushing myself to get through another installment of this series, which makes the "Twilight" movies seem exceptional by comparison. The story continues with the incredibly unengaging romantic issues of “Hardin” (Hero Fiennes Tiffin), who, after losing “Tessa” (Josephine Langford), had a brief encounter with “Nathalie” (Mimi Keane) that became public. Understandably, she was upset, and now, some time later, he’s gone to Portugal in an attempt to apologize (and so the cast could enjoy some sunshine). Naturally, what he truly desires is to be back together with "Tessa," but will he mature enough to acknowledge his mistakes and mend things with her? Honestly, I didn't have any interest. At first, I thought Tiffin had a bit of appeal, but now that’s completely gone, and he doesn’t bring any charisma to the part of this rather unpleasant and self-centered character. There are plenty of family conflicts, an intermittent drinking problem (likely for those of us watching), and the conclusion felt like everyone just wanted it over with. I realize I'm not who this is aimed at – but money has been invested in this – and that money could have been used for practically anything else. The characters lack depth, and while the scenery is quite lovely in some beautiful places, this one should be finished now. Let’s hope there isn’t a holiday version coming out.
