A single evening brings together two babysitters, five children, and a series of events! Following Riley’s ‘Invisible Sister,’ it's now Maya's (Sabrina Carpenter) turn, referencing the pair of friends from 'Girl Meets World.' This film experienced a postponed release and was initially described as a continuation of the 1980s movie with the same title; however, it is currently presented as an official remake. The central concept remained consistent while other elements were updated for contemporary tastes. They intended to achieve a G or PG rating, so they had to omit some of the more daring aspects from the original, resulting in a straightforward one-night story. This marks the 100th film produced by Disney Channel. I didn’t particularly love it nor did I find it unappealing. My reaction is complicated, but if you were fond of the initial movie, which appealed to all ages, you likely won't appreciate this version. This one is geared towards viewers who haven’t experienced the earlier film and specifically targets a younger audience. A problem arises from having the two babysitters paired with two groups of children under their care, significantly reducing the scope of the adventures. There’s nothing new or inventive here, and the changes to scenes didn't improve the storytelling. The rap song was especially underwhelming when contrasted with ‘Babysitting Blues,’ and underdeveloped characters also hurt the film. However, the performances from the actors were impressive; if the story had incorporated 60-70% fresh ideas, it might have made a stronger impression on audiences. As a television movie, it performed adequately, but in comparison to the original, it falls short. 5/10
