It's hard to overstate how delightfully absurd and enjoyable Accepted is; it’s a wonderfully silly comedy and a complete distraction from reality. The movie works because its central idea – that students invent a college to hide their rejection from their families – is completely outlandish. The film embraces this silliness wholeheartedly, delivering a consistently entertaining experience. Before they became major stars, Jonah Hill and Blake Lively are both excellent in the cast. Justin Long's character, Bartleby Gaines, develops into a leader for this group of misfits, eventually attracting the attention of someone who previously ignored him. Ultimately, Accepted is about finding belonging and celebrating individuality among those who don’t quite fit in. The unusual personalities provide constant amusement, and there's laughter throughout. This movie deserves to be embraced by everyone.
