A yeti’s escape from captivity sends him scrambling for refuge onto a city building’s rooftop, where he unexpectedly meets a young girl. She often leaves her home to visit the roof—a place she uses to practice violin, map out imagined journeys to China, and simply get away. The yeti notices her hand, and initially, both are frightened. However, that fear doesn't last long, and soon they’re joined by her neighbors, Peng and Jin, setting off on a boat for an adventure aimed at returning their new companion to Mount Everest. Simultaneously, the people responsible for his confinement pursue him relentlessly, employing advanced technology in their efforts to recapture him. The film unfolds as a heartwarming story about friendship and mutual support, enhanced by beautiful visuals and a subtle sense of danger stemming from Dr. Zara’s pursuit. The yeti demonstrates some remarkable displays of icy magic, signaling that he's not someone to be underestimated during their winding journey back toward colder regions. The animation is straightforward, with considerable attention given to the characters' facial expressions, and occasional moments of humor help keep things engaging. While the plot doesn't break much new ground—it feels somewhat familiar—I found myself quite fond of our furry white friend, and as far as movies about connection go, this one isn’t disappointing.
