I really like Darren Lynn Bousman’s work, generally speaking. However, he's not always successful, and _Abattoir_ isn’t one of his better films in my opinion. There are numerous promising concepts within _Abattoir_, but they don’t quite coalesce into a cohesive whole because something is missing—a guiding force to tie them all together. _Final rating:★★ - It had elements I enjoyed, but the final result didn't work out well._
