A Working Man isn’t flawless, but I found myself enjoying it quite a bit, despite a few reservations. Jason Statham rarely lets me down in an action movie, and since I like his work, I pretty much expected to have some fun with this one. Statham is excellent, of course; without him, the film wouldn’t be nearly as engaging. Aside from the former British diver – it's still hard to believe that’s the same person! – there are simply too many characters, which is a problem I had. There were just too many people involved. Even so, everyone on screen performs adequately, and none of them really stood out negatively. David Harbour does a good job in a smaller part; he tends to play similarly, but this felt slightly different. Michael Peña and Arianna Rivas are reliable, as is Jason Flemyng. Flemyng’s character could have been the only antagonist, or at least one of several. He delivers enough that I don't think anyone else was necessary, particularly since characters like Andrej Kaminsky and Maximilian Osinski didn’t do a great job. Chidi Ajufo was the best among the supporting cast. My other concern is the length. Perhaps with so many people involved, nearly two hours felt required, but I’m sure this story could have been told in 90 minutes without any trouble. But again, as noticeable as that and the previous issue are, they didn't detract too much from my enjoyment.
