The final film featuring Roger Moore as 007 unfortunately marks his least impressive contribution. The plot, which involves Christopher Walken’s character, "Zorin," scheming to control the world's micro-chip market through destruction of California’s Silicon Valley, stretches the believability of the series. Although Grace Jones portrays “May Day” with a striking beauty and grace, her performance lacks depth and sophistication, and Walken isn't given material or personality that would allow him to properly embody his part as the power-hungry business owner. Moore puts forth considerable effort, and Patrick Macnee’s initial appearances evoke some of the earlier films’ flair; however, this feeling fades as the movie progresses, with everything—with the possible exception of a scene involving expansive photography and overt advertising—falling short. Duran Duran & John Barry received a Golden Globe for the theme song, but that's likely the most memorable aspect in my view.
