It’s an acceptable film, but not one I anticipate revisiting, and I don’t have a strong endorsement for it unless you're really eager for more Harold and Kumar stories. The movie feels contrived. The buddy comedy aspect, similar to the initial two films, felt justifiable, however, this “reconnecting through hardship” storyline seems worn out, and it requires considerable effort—introducing new friend groups and manufactured rivalries—just to reach a point where their familiar comedic antics can begin and we get some callbacks to earlier installments. The Neil Patrick Harris portion is awkward, though I suppose it’s alright given that he's the one playing the part. It functions as a "Harold and Kumar" escapade within a film attempting to shift away from those kinds of adventures toward themes of duty and prioritizing family.
