I’m really happy I discovered this movie and was able to watch it with my family. It's become a holiday favorite here, and I expect we’ll be watching it every year from now on. It’s genuinely funny and moves at a good pace, which is part of why we enjoy it so much. The characters you’re meant to like are either enjoyable or gradually win you over, while the antagonist is just as easy to dislike. The story itself isn't particularly special, but the individual scenes are really well done. There are a few unexpected turns that keep things interesting. Another reason we appreciate it is because it feels like one of the closest things we’ve found to an atheist-themed Christmas film. It even ends with a portion of a Tim Minchin song playing over the credits. There's some violence, but mostly it comes across as cartoonish rather than anything intense. The language occasionally includes some strong words, so parents should consider that when deciding whether it’s appropriate for younger viewers. *A Sunburnt Christmas* is certainly going on our yearly holiday movie rotation!
