A Royal Affair proves to be a truly excellent film. I found myself appreciating every aspect of it, but the ending really sealed the deal – it provided a superb resolution that avoided the expected tidy conclusion. Even though the movie exceeds two hours in length, the rhythm feels remarkably well-managed, as does the memorable musical score. The performers all deliver impressive work. Alicia Vikander is notably exceptional, and Mads Mikkelsen gives a fantastic performance as well. Mikkel Følsgaard also provides a noteworthy portrayal; I wasn't entirely sure about him initially, but he ultimately won me over completely. The rest of the cast are very capable too. It’s such a skillfully crafted and presented story, and the entire visual presentation is superb. It’s easy to watch from beginning to end, and by the time you reach the final section, it successfully incorporates emotional depth. I'm definitely a fan.
