I can honestly say this is among the very best films I’ve ever seen—and believe me, I've seen quite a few! The plot feels fresh, which isn't something you encounter often anymore, and the performances are truly exceptional. John Krasinski and Emily Blunt, along with the kids, manage to breathe life into their roles and make you genuinely invested in them, even though the script itself isn’t particularly strong. That’s a remarkable accomplishment. From the opening scenes, I was completely absorbed in these characters' experiences, able to sense the constant worry and danger that permeates their daily existence. Despite all they endure, we also see a portrayal of a close-knit family—parents striving to protect their children, sharing prayers, maintaining their beliefs even when times are incredibly tough, and that familial bond really elevates the entire narrative. Where do you turn for support when your world is upended? When things fall apart? To your family. Beyond just the acting, the direction, the settings, everything simply works together to create a genuinely frightening movie—one that doesn’t need cheap thrills to scare you. I definitely suggest seeing this one. We went to see it in cinemas and purchased it as soon as it was available. It's truly excellent work.
