Tim Robbins portrays an aid worker known only as "B," alongside Mambru, played by Benicio Del Toro, who are experienced in their roles and training a new recruit named Sophie (Melanie Thierry). Along with Damir (Fedja Stukan), their interpreter, they focus on providing essential resources like safe drinking water to those uprooted by the war. I understand this film is based on an actual aid worker’s experiences. It highlights the frustrating obstacles caused by red tape that hinder their work and the careful way they must maneuver around the different groups involved in the fighting. While a documentary could present similar subject matter, it wouldn't likely be as engaging or captivating thanks to the strong performances from the actors.
