This isn’t one of those films I’d recommend. *A Patch of Fog* isn’t awful, but I honestly can’t think of much that stood out to me as good. I do appreciate Stephen Graham and Conleth Hill's performances, although I know they’ve done better work. The story does have a few decent parts with some clever turns and a satisfying resolution, but these are infrequent and surrounded by fairly unremarkable material. Graham and Hill keep it from being totally unwatchable, however, most everything else holds it back. Even though the film is only 90 minutes long, it feels like a slog to get through—and that’s not helped by the filmmakers revealing too much too soon; a bit more suspense or nuance would have made a big difference.
