I wasn’t really prepared for this movie's plot, and that’s what made it enjoyable. Typically, historical films focus on romance or battles, but this one demonstrated there are many other subjects to explore with an audience. Romance does play a role, and I appreciated how it was mixed with the central theme of engineering, particularly gardening. It ranks among the best period dramas I've watched, and the entire cast delivered strong performances; Kate Winslet stood out as exceptional. Matthias Schoenaerts and Alan Rickman were quite good too. The story follows a woman who is recently lost her husband and is trying to secure a position on a new royal gardening project. After overcoming some challenges, she’s hired, but the job brings its own set of difficulties. As she works, feelings develop for her supervisor, and an unexpected meeting with someone in the royal family leads to further changes in her life. The film then explores how she deals with all these issues—including a budding romance—as the project deadline approaches. This isn’t one of those bright, female-centered historical dramas; it's more about professional achievement and smaller personal struggles. I have to commend the writers and director first, but the actors also did their part to bring the story to life. I might have called it a family film initially, but because of some mature themes, it’s better suited for adults. I would certainly suggest seeing it. _8/10_
