The film initially feels like a standard Agatha Christie story, even down to the protagonist’s name being Agatha and her partner called Iris. Agatha's sister gathers a group of acquaintances aboard a yacht and confronts them with their past wrongdoings. However, the narrative stalls after that point. It diverges from typical Christie mysteries where characters meet their demise and unexpected revelations occur; this film lacks those elements. There’s an odd explanation involving the color violet and its significance – it's completely strange. The police officer needs Agatha’s assistance in identifying who shot a guest (in the shoulder), and she constantly whispers suggestions to him about what he should say or do. The situation quickly becomes absurd. The performances are poor, and none of the guests appear to have bothered with basic grooming. It concludes with a kiss on the beach between Agatha and Iris – a perfunctory gesture signaling the end.
