This story feels familiar, like something that’s been done many times before, and perhaps it is retold a bit too often. Nevertheless, this version of *‘A Christmas Carol'* manages to be a decent adaptation of Charles Dickens' novel. Jim Carrey doesn't give a truly outstanding performance, but he's still enjoyable as Scrooge. Gary Oldman (as Bob) and Colin Firth (as Fred) are also welcome additions to the voice acting lineup. I appreciate the film’s atmosphere, along with the animation style – it isn't spectacular; some moments resemble video game graphics—but it effectively creates a sense of place for Victorian London. The music by Alan Silvestri is quite good as well. I would suggest watching this movie, though it’s true that I am fond of Ebenezer’s story.
