This early adaptation of a Charles Dickens story was something I truly enjoyed. Reginald Owen and Gene Lockhart, who happened to be from London, Ontario, gave terrific performances as Ebenezer Scrooge and Bob Cratchit. It’s absolutely worth seeing during the holidays; it ranks alongside 'A Charlie Brown Christmas' and the Boris Karloff telling of 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' as ones I feel compelled to watch every year at Christmastime.
