The expansive nature of a war film can sometimes overshadow the individual narratives that draw viewers in, making it difficult to grasp the true scale of what occurred. When portraying events as vast as warfare—whether on screen or in educational settings—a human element is essential for understanding the immense tragedy involved. Thomas provides this focus here through compelling accounts based on actual experiences of these women. The film does stumble into some common pitfalls seen in biographical movies, yet it benefits from a strong cast including Katic, Linus Roache ('Mandy'), and Apte’s initial appearance in American films, allowing the movie to find its place and succeed. At minimum, these courageous women's true stories warrant consideration.
