I enjoyed the first couple, but 'A Brush with Christmas' felt quite lifeless. It was slow going; it honestly did drag. This is a typical holiday movie made for TV, so it has all of the expected sentimentality and clichés. However, the narrative itself just isn’t presented in an engaging fashion, which is not helped by how foreseeable everything turns out to be. As I mentioned earlier, I thought Jillian Murray and Joseph Cannata worked well together; they are reasonably well-suited for their roles. That's really my only compliment about it, though. It’s funny because you could easily create another film from the perspective of Brenda from Home Cooking – a two-week back injury is all it would take to lose her catering business to an inexperienced artist, which I think would be unfair! There doesn't seem to be any sense of commitment in the food service world anymore...
