What a letdown of a film. Adam Driver is undeniably talented, but this movie proved to be unbelievably dull. Nearly all of the runtime consists of one encounter after another with dangerous, bloodthirsty dinosaurs. It feels like just as you start to anticipate some narrative progression, yet another dinosaur appears to fight. Gradually, it becomes clear that there isn't much beyond a simple trek up a hill, filled with dinosaur battles. Adam portrays a father to a nine-year-old child, but during this expedition, he’s forced to travel alongside another child who seems older than nine and then inexplicably transforms into someone incapable of basic communication. It feels like a tremendous waste of the actors' abilities and the money spent on visual effects. I suspect those involved in creating this movie have backgrounds in CGI or visual design because that's really the only aspect that’s executed well.
