Adam Driver plays “Mills,” who embarks on a lengthy space journey with the goal of securing funds for his daughter’s essential medical care. During their voyage, the ship runs into an unexpected meteor storm, leaving him stranded on an unfriendly planet alongside the spirited young "Koa" (Ariana Greenblatt). Their only chance at survival involves reaching a remote section of their damaged spacecraft where an escape pod might offer passage back to space and potential rescue. There’s a catch, though: they aren't alone on this world, and every other inhabitant seems intent on making “Mills” and "Koa" their next meal. And if that weren’t enough, a massive meteor is headed toward the planet, threatening everything around them. What follows is a fairly standard sequence of events reminiscent of "Jurassic Park," providing an opportunity for impressive visual effects but not much else. Driver's performance feels flat, the dangers they face lack real tension, and it felt like watching dinosaurs tackle a “Degoba” scenario. It wasn’t terrible, and it would likely be acceptable viewing on television during Christmas, however as a cinematic experience, it falls short—unoriginal and lacking any significant contribution from the lead actor.
