4D Man, an atomic age science fiction film of modest budget, features actors who would later gain recognition, including Robert Lansing and Lee Meriwether. Viewed through modern eyes, the movie doesn't quite qualify as horror, though there are some well-executed murder scenes accompanied by a distinctive jazz soundtrack. As far as inexpensive films go, this quirky favorite is enjoyable! The production quality is surprisingly good, with some really creative and striking special effects achieved practically for a film made in 1959. It's true that the science isn’t entirely believable, and it can occasionally feel dated, but the memorable antagonist and intentionally silly dialogue are exactly what make B-movies so appealing, don’t you think? It’s worth checking out.
