A striking image: two individuals (?) are positioned against a sunset backdrop, both attractive; the man has a tattoo visible only on his palm (a warning sign!), while she gazes intently and adoringly at his trembling lips. The male lead appears to be waiting for something – perhaps a delivery – and she’s disrobed once more. Then comes a look—reminiscent of someone drifting off while adjusting Instagram's sepia filter, everything rendered uniformly beautiful. Adding to the experience are sounds from the lower reaches of the German music charts, somewhere between positions 58 and 72. Is it a single song repeating? Or many that all sound alike? Is this even music, or just the noise of someone accidentally kicking a neighbor’s cat? I can't say for sure. But there’s no time to ponder; one of the excessively sensual games is about to begin, and it promises to be unpleasant. It’s incredibly romantic. She says “Fuck me,” he remains silent as always, but his expression has shifted from anticipation to something akin to a stroke. And then he licks her. A thorough licking, across her face and onto the nearby table leg. Thankfully, this extended exchange is filmed in extreme slow motion, prolonging the… cinematic pleasure. Suddenly, he speaks... no, that’s not quite right; he doesn't speak at all. Dialogue is reserved for emergencies only. Even though there seems to be some kind of mafia storyline unfolding—one I missed amidst all the constant intimacy. I didn’t recognize many of these people until the very end. It’s probably my fault for not having seen the first film, but it's also odd that this sequel doesn’t bother to develop the characters or explain what's happening here. Does anything even matter? Not really. The men are meant to be appealing and the women are supposed to be determined and naive. And then they start drooling on each other again 😍😍😍 “365 Days - This Day” feels like “Fifty Shades of Gray,” but aimed at creatures as simple as amoebas; it’s filmed with the same feeling as if a Netflix executive were directly implanting images into your brain, all in slow motion. It's infuriatingly sexist, terribly acted, and predictably holding the top spot on the Netflix charts. I wish there was a blackout when you needed one.
