The story centers on an inexperienced adolescent employed at a spa who develops a strong connection with a coworker, someone also feeling isolated. These two spend time at a bar run by an unusual pregnant artist and her former rodeo star husband. Throughout various emotional struggles, the three women seem to exchange characteristics. Or do they? It’s striking that one of these women doesn't speak until less than ten minutes before the end—and some of that time was devoted to credits. A badly worded summary isn’t necessarily a reflection on the film itself, but it does lead me to wonder about the choice of title, _3 Women_. I might simply be missing something here, unable to grasp its meaning, and I can only offer a review based on my own experience—and from that viewpoint, I'd say it was acceptable. Several stylistic choices bothered me, particularly the music; I’ve endured worse for less with similar themes, but it still proved detrimental. However, the performances of the two main actresses are what largely carry the film, and they are both quite good. Not **amazing**, just good. I realize that not completely loving this puts me in a minority opinion, because many people today seem to give films extra credit simply for being made before... say, 1987. That’s never influenced my perspective, and _3 Women_ didn't really resonate with me. _Final rating:★★½ - It had elements that I liked, but it didn’t entirely succeed._
