The anticipation for a follow-up to _Devil’s Rejects_ has been considerable, and _3 From Hell_ is at last available—though the result proves somewhat underwhelming. It's not **terrible**, mind you! But following such a strong second film, and after so much time spent waiting, it simply doesn't quite measure up. I am very fond of Richard Brake’s work, but his appearance felt rather arbitrary, and Sid Haig’s early exit due to his unfortunate death seemed almost… disrespectful. Or maybe not? It seems absurd to expect a Rob Zombie film to be respectful when you consider he put his wife in a feather headdress prominently displayed on the promotional poster. Speaking of which, I wouldn't be surprised if Zombie deliberately incorporated that attire so people would criticize it and allow him to respond with something along the lines of "The character is already a serial killer; why are you expecting good behavior from her? Why is her cultural appropriation the most troubling thing she’s done?" Which, honestly, would be a reasonable response. But I'm getting off track. _3 From Hell_ falls short of expectations, and it’s likely the 14-year gap between films influenced what we received; nevertheless, it remains quite enjoyable, particularly when you consider that after _House of_ subsequent installments have featured outright killers as their main characters. _Final rating:★★★ - I liked it.
