The conflict between siblings resolved through the actions of one of their children. Time travel isn’t a fresh idea in Indian movies, though it's rarely explored. It's surprising that filmmakers aren’t taking better advantage of technology readily available today. This kind of premise could help Indian films reach a wider global audience, especially considering India is already the world’s top film producer. However, it requires moving away from traditional storytelling and character development. For example, the father and son roles are portrayed by the same actor, something that hasn't changed in roughly seventy years. The movie's length also felt excessive. Despite these issues, I did find enjoyment in watching it. The story starts in the nineteen nineties when twin brothers fight over a watch, an event that leads to significant problems. Twenty-six years later, the device falls into the hands of one of their sons, revealing it to be a time travel tool. Then come the more enjoyable parts, including romantic elements, until the final act becomes serious again and ends with a surprising development. A sequel is planned, titled 'Decoded,' and I'm eager to see it released. The script was well-crafted, but there are too many seemingly intense moments – like those involving birds – that feel unnecessary and appear to conceal plot inconsistencies. Given the science fiction and time travel elements, any errors should be addressed or minimized, which the writer attempted. Nevertheless, some details seem odd, such as where the watch ultimately goes and the arbitrary addition of years and months to the device without a basis in scientific understanding. Despite this, I believe the director of 'Yaavarum Nalam' did an admirable job. He dedicated nearly ten years to developing the script, and that effort clearly shows. Surya produced it under his 2D entertainment banner and delivered a strong performance in the triple roles, supported by other talented actors. It’s certainly worth seeing for Indian viewers, and also for international audiences, though the familiar theme keeps it from being exceptional—it's still an enjoyable film. 8/10
