I’ve had the opportunity to watch numerous excellent films from Arab and Israeli filmmakers that explore the delicate, often fabricated boundary between those cultures. This one simply falls short. The narrative has significant gaps that diminish its worth. A primary issue is the protagonist's decision to prioritize his Palestinian identity above his family; the director provides no explanation for what seems like a crucial point of interest for audiences. Other motivations are also absent.
