I enjoyed myself. I’ve never really connected with Mark Wahlberg, though he was pleasant and amusing in this one. As for Denzel… I have to admit, I dislike seeing him play the intelligent law enforcement character; it feels repetitive since I've seen it so many times from him, but I appreciate it when he breaks free of that mold and surpasses Brando. So, I anticipated being somewhat let down, and I was a little bit, because the storyline wasn’t particularly compelling. However, they made a good team; it was enjoyable to see Washington adopt a less serious demeanor for the film's writing. And there was enough action present that the lack of a typical plot didn’t really detract from the experience. Ultimately, it is one of those films you might have on while doing other things—reading, working, cleaning, editing, or anything else to keep your mind occupied—knowing that you will still understand what's happening even if you aren’t fully focused and miss some details, but it remains a fun movie, and truthfully, there is nothing wrong with films like that.
